A small tear threatening to come out, but I blinked my eyes not wanting to let them know how pathetic I am. They are overprotective and treat me like I'm their precious gem when I am not even related to blood.

I still remember the day when they all opened their arms for me, welcoming me into their life. They brought so many sweet memories that no one can replace even my own brother. I didn't hear about him nor my parents since I left England, my so-called native place.

I ate silently ignoring their piercing stare digging the hole onto my skull. "Your daughter is awake." The nurse informed us when she happened to pass the hallway.

"Here." Jane Watz, Dylan's girlfriend handed me a tray of food. "Thanks." I muttered before walking towards my baby's room.

"Mommy!" she began to whimper which caught me off guard. "Baby!! What happened to you? You okay?" I reached her small hand and rubbed her palm. "It's hurting." Tears pooled down through her cheeks.

A large lump formed in my throat and I found it very hard to swallow. The nurse came and gave her a painkiller. At first, she was adamant to take the medicine. "Where is Uncle?" she asked once again taking me off guard.

"He... he is -" I searched for the proper words.

"I'm here." His voice made our head turn towards the door. "Uncle." She whispered excitedly. Kayish took a few large steps and stood beside her, on the opposite of mine.

"What's happened to you?" Sweety pouted her lips. She is on the verge of crying it made my heart squeeze with pain. "Nothing baby. I'm alright." He winced when her hand touched his swollen cheeks.

"Now be a good baby and take your medicine." He stretched his palm towards me gesturing me to give him a tablet.

To be continued---

Hesitantly, I gave him a medicine and watched how he is convincing her by saying he will take her to the amusement park once she recovers fast.

Without wasting any time, she opened her mouth and he shoved the tablet deep inside her throat and made her drink the water. After that, he fed her breakfast until she finished the plates and gave her a glass of milk as a final touch.

I blankly watched them as an unknown emotion flood through my body, at some point I wish it would be great if he is with us, 'lifelong' my inner mind added. I shook my head to get rid of the negative trance.

Deciding it is time to give her some space, I walked out of her room after confirming she fell asleep. Mom Daisy engulfed me the moment I stepped out of Sweety's room for a bone-crushing hug.

"Oh, my poor girl. You all right?" She examined my whole body trying to find any trace of injury like what I did to Sweety. Mother's love is always eternal except my own.

"Mom, I'm alright." I gave her a weak smile. Now the whole family is standing in front of me and I felt so small under their gazes.

Some faces I have known already gave me a look of pity while some threw me a guilty look who I recognized a bit but not sure whether my assumption was right.

The furious Daniel and his wife Laura Stood near the water can, Dylan and his Girlfriend Jane Watz sat on the chairs while Claire trying to calm her furious boyfriend Draco who was continuously cursing which is not pleasured to hear, that explained they got a big lecture from dad.

Rachel and Mark sat on the chair while Karan taking a good look at every new face. Then I saw a faint familiar face, the exact replica of Kayish, besides, standing an old woman yet beautiful who I assume is Kayish's Mom.

Now all the family members are gathering here. If it is not a hospital, we would call this a family reunion.

I wonder whether it's a hospital or some charity hall. Why the hell all the peoples are here? aren't there one of the hospital rules of 'don't allow more than two visitors a day' but again I can't blame them.

They are so rich and have more connections with VIPs. I can't even predict who owns this hospital among these people I care a lot about.

"Can I see my kid?" Kayish's mom asked somehow her voice held agony. "Not now." An arrogant reply came out of nowhere and he stood beside me. "She is sleeping. Let her take rest." He said in monotonic.

Haven't I told you he is not fond of his parents? After that, no one utters any words which were very grateful for me.

---

One week passed having a daily routine of everyone coming in a random time, giving me a reason of they are here for checking me and Sweety and to my surprise, she is doing very well than I expected.

All this time Kayish stood for our side not leaving us any second. No one dared to push him out which give me a suspicion that dad is behind all this glory.

His place in Sweet's heart is promoted from Uncle to Friend and she is very fond of her new friendship. Sometimes, he put her bed while I was not feeling well; the morning sickness is eating me alive.

Between these times, he begged me to tell her the truth, but I insisted. I only allowed him because he is a part of my Sweety's recovery but that doesn't mean I would give him what he wants.

And yesterday I felt him talking to my stomach at night when I was in deep slumber as to how he is going to make a good father. I heard him say more and more about the future but I was too busy drowning in my sleep.

I melted for his words, but these were the same words he used four years ago when I was in a relationship with him and I don't want to fall for his same trick again.
