I touched the corner of my lips by my thump where the piercing pain is erupting through and saw the small amount of bloodstains on my finger. He went too rough.

Once I get inside the car I drove directly to my apartment not wanting to waste another second and changing my mind to killing him for thousand times just to calm my nerve.


My visions are blurred through the whole driving because of my moisturized eyes. I don't know how I am going to make it safe to my apartment but I have to do this for the sake of Sweety.

I can't even imagine her growing up without her mother. I wiped my tears and focused on the road.

Two hours earlier.......


I am in my office doing my work as usual but the booming sound from the opposite room got my attention.

Preparing a strong tea for myself I grabbed the burger and sat down in one of the chairs and took one giant bite of my burger.

I don't know how hungry I was earlier but I wanted to eat the whole burger. The taste is amazing.

My mind involuntary wandered around yesterday's conversation that I had with Sweety.

"Mom, he is so nice. He fed me a pizza, I like him." Sweety's words kept playing on my mind like a tape recorder.

"I wanted to thank him and ask sorry too for calling him a monster." Her saddened face melted my heart like a candle. Kids are angels, aren't they?

Sighing heavily, I started to drink my tea and my burger. I glanced at my wristwatch and dialed Juliet's number. It's our breakfast time and she would always here before I come but now she didn't show yet.

"Juliet?"

"Hey! Riya." Her voice was so urgent, it looks like she would end the call anytime soon and as my great predictions, she ended the call saying, "I will meet you there in a minute, it's important."

What was important? Who knows? I opened my Fb and went through the page to get some time pass.

I set my phone on the table when I felt someone's presence in front of me. I raised my brows at her questioningly asking for the reason behind her attitude today.

"Sorry I am late."

"And?" I asked.

"Riya, he found the traitor."

"Who found whom?" I asked not getting the point.

"The person who tried to harm you."

I furrowed my brows. What is she talking about? "Sorry Juliet, I didn't get the point and... from my concern no one tried to harm me. I was just trapped inside the elevator. That's it." I pointed out.

She inhaled deeply. "Riya, he strictly told us not to disclose the matter to anyone especially you. But I think you have to know the truth. First, it's not an accident, he planned it. Second, Nevin Paul is behind these incidents."

"What? You mean the senior manager?"

"Exactly." She leaned on the chair.

"But why? I barely know him. Then why did he try to harm me? What would he get from my death?" I asked totally confused by his actions.

"He might have thought that if he succeeds to get rid of you from this company, his son would take your position. Because this had been decided a while ago before our old boss changes his decision and give the position to you instead of him." She explained.

"Ohh." Was the simple word slipped out of my mouth.

"And don't worry; he will suspend him any second soon. Our boss is so angry and I don't know why he is reacting too harsh to everyone including me." She then inhaled a huge amount of oxygen like she is going to spill her mind out.

"Has it anything to do with you?" She asked and I looked away. How I am going to tell her that he is doing this desperately just to satisfy his rotten heart.

"I don't know." I said and stood up ready to leave.

"Something bothering you." She looked directly into my eyes. I averted my gaze and left the place.

I can't blame her even a child can predict what's going inside my head. I am an open book.

When I reached the 7th floor, I saw a bunch of employees was gathering in front of his office. I bit the corner of my lips. He may go too far, I could stop him. It's my problem, not his.

I knocked at his office door but no response. Ignoring the murmur from the employees, I entered his office and locked the door.

"Can you please stop this? You are acting like a child. At least behave like a man?" I scolded him folding my hands against my chest.

"Who gave you permission to enter my office?" He asked then glared at him who was standing a foot away from me.

"It's my concern and I will deal with him. I don't think it's your place to investigate the matter for trying to harm one of your employees. You should escalate the matter to the security team or HR. Otherwise making a scene is not appropriate." I point out.

I don't know what the problem he has with me but if I talk with him it may get solved.

He hit the table forcefully by his palms and stood up on his place abruptly. In a blink of an eye, he reached my place and stood in front of me.

He is a complete beast. Rage filled in his face and his eyes turned bloodshot red. He fisted his hand and clenched his jaw. Seeing his dead serious face, I gulped down and took a step backward.
