Peter shook his head in rejection; he couldn't sleep with a woman for money. He sighed and finally walked back to the bench in front of the closed shop to sit and stared out at the busy road, knowing he didn’t have a home, and waiting for night to fall completely so he could return to the spot under the bridge where they slept every night.

Meanwhile, Cindy arrived home at her father's mansion, a grand duplex house, as she was the only child of her billionaire parents. She parked her red car in the garage and stepped out, walking up to the front of the mansion.

The duplex mansion was painted white and had beautiful flowering green plants at the front, as well as glass walls. As she entered the living room, she met her mother’s maid, Esther.
“Welcome home, Aunt Cindy,” Esther greeted her. Cindy frowned and paused as she scolded Esther.
“Haven't I warned you to stop calling me Aunt Cindy? Here, take this car key and go to my car to bring out the white polythene bag I forgot in there, and then take it upstairs to my bedroom.”
Cindy handed Esther her car keys, as she didn’t like Esther. Just then, her mother stepped out of the kitchen after hearing Cindy's voice.
Esther was related to Cindy through her mother, but Cindy did not want to acknowledge Esther as her relative. She hated sharing anything that belonged to her, and she disliked how her mother had taken care of Esther since bringing her home from the village.
“Cindy,” Mrs. Bola called as she walked into the living room, drying her wet hands on a white kitchen towel. She wore a long brown gown.

“When will you learn to be nicer to Esther and understand that she’s not just a maid here, but my aunt's daughter from the village? She’s only helping me whenever you’re not around to assist,” Mrs. Bola said to Cindy, indirectly scolding her daughter.
“Mom… good afternoon,” Cindy greeted her mother, staring ahead at the living room stairs. “I know Esther is not a maid, Mom, but tell her to stop calling me ‘Aunt.’ It makes it seem like we’re related, but we aren’t sisters, and I don’t need her closeness.”
“Cindy…” Mrs. Bola frowned. Cindy stopped speaking and said, “I have to go upstairs now, Mom. I will be back for dinner.”
Cindy walked cat-like to the stairs and went up to her bedroom as Mrs. Bola sighed while looking at Esther. She said, “It’s okay; you can go and fetch what she asked you to bring.”

“Okay, ma,” Esther replied, and she walked out of the house.

However, Cindy walked into her bedroom and couldn’t stop thinking about the handsome man she saw at the shopping mall. She remembered how she had reacted.
She walked up to her window to pull it open, allowing a gust of wind to blow into her pink-painted bedroom. Then she walked over to the mirror to admire her beautiful reflection.
Cindy was a cute young lady, and she smiled satisfactorily at her image, but she couldn’t stop thinking about what it would be like to become that handsome man’s wife.
"Gosh, just imagine him and me as a couple, with him touching me and bathing with me," she got lost in her thoughts, envisioning herself and Peter as husband and wife.
Her room door pushed open without a knock, and Esther walked in just as Cindy jolted out of her trance, glaring at her for interrupting her sweet thoughts.
"I'm sorry; I brought the white bag you sent me to get," Esther said, immediately apologizing to Cindy.
"Go ahead and put it on the chair and leave," Cindy dismissed Esther. Esther rushed to the white plastic chair to drop off the bag and darted out of Cindy's room.
Cindy sighed after Esther left and walked over to her bed to sit down and take off her red shoes to relieve her feet.
Standing up again, she didn’t want anyone else to disturb her thoughts about the handsome man she had begun thinking a lot about. She walked over to her room door to lock it.
Just then, she heard another knock and asked, "Who's there?"
"It’s me, Cindy. Open up!" Mrs. Bola replied, surprised to hear her daughter’s voice from behind the door.
She had seen Esther rush out and wondered what Cindy had done to make her leave like that.
Cindy opened her room door, and her mother walked in with a smile.
"What’s up, Mom? I want to take my bath now," Cindy said as Mrs. Bola majestically entered her room. Mrs. Bola smiled and replied, "Close the door first and come sit on the bed."
Cindy shut her room door and walked over to her mother, but she refused to sit.
"I want to be quick with my bath, Mom. Just tell me why you’re here," Cindy said, looking away. Her mother replied, "Okay. Actually, your father called me today and told me he has accepted a marriage proposal on your behalf. Tomorrow, Sunday, Jeremy Lukeman will be here to see you."
"Why, Mom? I'm not interested in Jeremy," Cindy replied, although she didn’t know him well, she was familiar with who his father was in the city.
"You don’t have a choice, Cindy, and don’t you dare misbehave in front of him tomorrow. Please hurry, as I'm waiting for you downstairs so we can have dinner together as a family."
"Mom…" Cindy tried to protest, but Mrs. Bola interjected, "No excuses. Be fast with your bath. I will be waiting."
Mrs. Bola exited Cindy's room, and she could hear her screaming out in frustration, "Oh! Is it mandatory to marry now?"
Mrs. Bola shook her head as she walked away, pondering where she went wrong in raising her only daughter. Despite Cindy’s intelligence, she was rude.
Cindy finally returned to her bathroom to bathe as she continued to think about Peter. Since she didn’t know his name, she felt bad about how she had publicly insulted him and thrown money at him.
She thought, "I just hope to see him again."
Cindy stripped off her white gown and entered the shower. She couldn’t stop thinking about what her mother had said, either.
She knew that her arrogance and refusal to get intimate with any of the men she had dated contributed to her many failed relationships.
Cindy was only a 24-year-old lawyer. Sighing, she hurried into the bathroom to wash quickly and join her mother for dinner because she was determined not to marry Jeremy.
As she bathed quickly, Cindy recalled her last relationship. The last guy she dated was a billionaire who asked her to perform oral sex on him. She couldn't bring herself to do such a thing; she found it repulsive.
She had told David, "How do you expect me to do that?"
She couldn’t remain in the room with him.
Quickly, she packed her clothes and bolted out of the house. David hadn’t dared to stop her.
As the daughter of a commissioner, he knew better than to overstep boundaries, even though he liked her and wanted her in bed.
He instructed his bodyguards to let her go.
Cindy remembered breaking up with her last boyfriend for that reason; she even blocked him online and on her phone, telling him it was over.
