(Hello, everyone, only one more chapter to go after this and an epilogue. I will be sad to say goodbye to Elsie and Kellan, but it is the right time. I will try to get the next chapter up tomorrow since the way this one will end. )
Kellan
I am eagerly waiting for Elsie to come home. I have no idea when she will be back. I don’t mind waiting because I know she wants to spend time at her old apartment with her best friend. I wonder how their sleepover went last night. I haven’t heard much. A goodnight and I love you text last night and a good morning one this morning. I didn’t bother her because I wanted her to enjoy her time with Cassie.
I had unpacked the rest of her stuff while she wasn’t here. All of her things are now where they should be. I wanted it to feel more like our home rather than just mine. I couldn’t wait to spend our first night here together after her moving in officially. It hits differently.
I honestly never thought I would be in this position, living with someone. I probably shouldn’t be surprised because I knew Elsie was different from the second we met. I knew my life would change because of her; I just didn’t know to what extent. I wouldn’t change any of it. She has helped put me back together again. I am a better man because of her.
I had a special night planned for us. Yes, Elsie knows we are having dinner and drinks. A romantic night in, but it will be so much more than that. And hopefully, it doesn’t scare her away.
The sound of the front door opening pulls me from my thoughts.
“Kellan, are you here?”
The sound of Elsie’s voice makes me smile brightly. I stand from the sofa.
“Living room, angel,” I call back.
Elsie enters the living room, and I rush over to greet her. I wrap my arms around her and pull her to me for a kiss. Elsie happily kissed me back.
“I missed you,” I mumble into her lips.
“I missed you too.” She replies.
We part after only a moment. I stroke the hair away from her face.
“How was your tonight? How are you feeling?”
“It was good; we had a lot of fun. I am feeling a little sad, if I am being honest.”
“Aww, my love, I am sorry you are sad,” I whisper.
“I will be okay. I will miss Cassie and our little apartment.”
I hug her tightly to my chest. I will just need to make sure her living with me is perfect. I don’t want her to regret anything! I would hate it if that happened. She changed her entire life for me, and she isn’t happy.
“Can I do anything to make you feel better, beautiful?”
“Just being here with you is enough, babe.”
Elsie glances up at me and smiles.
“Okay.”
“I should probably finish unpacking,” she groans.
“No, you don’t. I did it for you. Everything is unpacked.” I say proudly.
“Really! You are the best. Thank you.” She gushes and kisses me softly.
It was stressing her out last night. I didn’t want her to stress.
“What would you like to do today?”
It is only eleven o’clock, so we have a few hours before I need to start dinner for us. Elsie takes a second to think. I will do whatever she wants. If she wants to go out, we can, or if she would prefer to stay in, I am okay with that.
“I thought maybe we could have lunch out somewhere. I don’t mean a restaurant or café. We could buy it from there and then find somewhere beautiful and relaxing to have it outside?” she suggests.
“Sure. That sounds perfect, sweetheart.”
“Yay! I just need a quick shower. I won’t be long, promise.”
She pecks my lip and disappears to the bathroom.
While Elsie is showering, I rush to the bedroom. I have something to take with me in case the perfect moment happens! I hide it in the inside pocket of my jacket. I don’t want Elsie to see it.
I take a seat on the sofa and act like I am just casually sitting there. Elsie comes back through twenty minutes later, showered and dressed.
“Ready to go, babe?” she asks.
“I sure am.” I smile.
I jump to my feet, take her hand in mine, and we leave. It would be nice to be out and spend some time just the two of us.
****
It has been a perfect afternoon. We had found a secluded place in the middle of a forest type area, surrounded by trees and nature with no one else in sight. It is peaceful.
We were lying on a blanket, her head on my chest. She has her eyes closed, listening to the sound of the water and the birds. I smile as I stare down at her. I am so crazy in love with this woman! I feel like I have known her my entire life. I often think she was made just for me because many women have come in and out of my life. They tried to steal my heart, but it didn’t work until Elsie.
She showed up when I least expected her to. The first night I met her, the only thing I wanted with her was casual and sexual. I didn’t realise that would be the night that would change my entire world.
I plant a soft kiss on her forehead. Elsie opens her eyes and meets mine.
“It is beautiful here, isn’t it?” she smiles.
“Yes. I am glad we did it. I could stay here for hours.”
“Me too!” she agrees.
I lean down to press a gentle kiss to her lips.
“I love you, sweetheart.”
“I love you too, handsome.”
We would need to leave in a couple of hours because it would start to get dark, and we needed to find the way back to the car. I don’t fancy getting lost here for the night. But while we are here, I want to enjoy it.
I pull Elsie on top of me in one swift moment.
She rests her chin on my chest and looks up at me, “Can I help you?” she giggles.
“Nope, just want you right here on my chest, is all.” I chuckle.
“I am okay with that.”
Elsie snuggles in, nuzzling her face in my neck. I slip my arms around and hold her tightly to me. I swear she is all I need to be a happy man.
I think this moment and this spot are the right ones. It is time for me to change both of our lives forever. I hope it goes as planned and doesn’t end with her running away.
