I wake to an empty bed, much to my dismay. Where is Elsie? I sit up, glancing around, but she is nowhere in sight. Maybe she is already up. I pull my ass out of bed, grab some joggers and pull them on before searching for her.
The closer I got to the kitchen, I smelt food and heard music. I guess she is in there since Cassie stayed with my brother last night, and it is early, so she probably won’t be home. I arrive outside the kitchen and see Elsie dancing around in her panties and one of my shirts, cooking us breakfast and looking sexy while doing so. She is singing too, and it is terrible but adorable at the same time. I rest against the frame, watching her as she shakes her ass.

I chuckle to myself, not wanting her to realise I am here yet. I couldn’t stop smiling. I have never felt happiness in the way I do when I am around her. It is hard to be sad or feel angry with Elsie around. She is a light in my darkness; I didn’t realise I needed. I still believe I don’t deserve her, but even though it hasn’t been long since we have been together, I couldn’t imagine my life without her now. I wonder if this is what falling in love feels like!
I make my way over, stopping behind her and slip my arms around her from behind, kissing her neck.
“Morning, angel,” I whisper.
“Morning, baby boy.” She coos, resting back against my chest, sighing.
“Something smells good, beautiful. What are you cooking, and can I help?”
“I am making chocolate chip pancakes. I got it, babe, but you can start a fresh pot of coffee, please.”

“I will, on one condition.” I turn her to face me.
She raises her brow at me, “Which is?”
“I want a kiss since you abandoned me in your bed.” I pout.
Elsie laughs, playfully rolling her eyes at me but reaches up, pressing a soft kiss to my lips. I hold her tightly to me and happily kiss back. The gentle kiss soon turns a little more heated.

“Mmm, babe, the food is going to burn.” Elsie giggles into my lips.
I protest but pull back because I don’t want breakfast to burn since Elsie has taken her time to make us pancakes from scratch. She turns her attention back to the cooker. I swat her ass, causing her to jump on my way to start the coffee. I make sure to put the right amount in because I know strong Elsie likes it.
I set the table for us as the coffee brews, and Elsie brings a plate of about ten pancakes to the table, putting it in the middle with syrup, chocolate sauce and a bowl of fresh fruit next to it.
“I know I made too much, but just eat what you can.” She laughs.
She has gone a little overboard, “I am sure we will manage most of it.” I chuckle, pouring the coffee and taking two mugs to the table.
Elsie sits across from me, “Um, why are you all the way over?”
“Where am I supposed to sit?” she asks.
I stand, going around to grab her chair as she sits on it and drags around next to mine.
“Better!” I grin.
“Weirdo,” she teases, and we tuck into breakfast.
The pancakes were incredible, so tasty and chocolatey.
“These are amazing, sweetness. I am sure there won’t be many wasted.”
Elsie smiles brightly, “Thanks, love. Glad you are enjoying them.”
I never know what to make of it when she calls me love or my love. Does she mean she is falling in love with me, too or is it just a cute nickname? I have no idea, but I won’t ask. I don’t want to jump to conclusions and scare her off.
For now, I will enjoy my day with her.

Elsie is getting ready for us to head out for a couple of hours. We were going to mine so I could drop my things off and ensure everything was okay at my place. I was ready, just waiting for her. I am watching her as she does her hair and make-up.
“You are staring, my love.” She says softly.
“I would say sorry, but it would be a lie,” I reply honestly.
Elsie playfully rolls her eyes at me, but a smile is present on her lips.
“Why do you call me that?” the words come from my lips before I can stop them, and I regret them the second they escape.
Elsie stands from where she is sitting, coming over and standing between my legs, “Call you what?” she seemed confused.
Oh shit, I brought this one on myself. I rub the back of my neck nervously, “Um, my love or love?” I stammer out.
“Don’t you like it? I can stop.” She panics.
“No, I like it, but I just wonder why you call me it?” I respond nervously.
I watch a blush rise on her cheeks, and she tucks her hair behind her ear, “I-I-I don’t know.” She whispers, looking away from me.
Great, now I have made things awkward. I think she does know why but doesn’t want to tell me.
“Okay.” I smile, kissing her softly, not wanting to discuss it any further and make things uncomfortable.
Elsie headed back over to finish getting ready, and I excused myself to use the bathroom, but I didn’t need it. I just wanted to put space between us for a minute. I shouldn’t have brought it up. I hope it doesn’t stop her from calling me it because I like it.
I throw some cold water on my face, taking a breather before joining her back in the bedroom.
“I won’t be long, babe, and we can head out.” she smiles.
Maybe I am overreacting because it doesn’t seem to be affecting Elsie the way it was a few minutes ago.
“No problem, take your time, angel.” I smile.
I go over to her, kiss her cheek and tell her I will wait in the living room for her. I will try not to overthink everything. I take a bottle of water from the fridge, sit on the sofa and go through some emails.
I am happy to be back here with Elsie and spending my time with her rather than with a bunch of strangers. I hope she can come with me anytime I need to travel because if not, I may need to stop travelling as much because Elsie is more important.
