Elsie and I were sitting on my kitchen floor, laughing. Our baking didn’t quite go as planned. I kept messing batches up to the extent she got so frustrated with me that she threw a bowl of flour at me. With her doing that, I thought I would return the favour and did the same to her, and before we knew it, we were having a fight with flour, water, milk and anything else we could get our hands on. She slid on her ass, and when I went to help her, she pulled me down with her, and we had been here for the last twenty minutes, laughing and kissing.
“Well, I didn’t plan on things turning out like this when I suggested we bake cookies.” She giggles, glancing around.

My kitchen is a mess, but I really don’t mind because we had fun making the mess.
“You and me, both, angel.” I chuckle, shaking my head.
“I don’t even know if there are enough ingredients left to make a batch now,” she pouts.
“Probably not, but I can nip out and get more things if you want?” I ask because she was excited of the idea of homemade cookies.
“No, it is okay. We can do it another day. Well, I can. You can stand far away and watch.” She teases, resting her head on my shoulder.
“You are being dramatic; it wasn’t that bad.” I protest.

Elsie raises her brow at me, “It was terrible! You were terrible!”
“Mean!” I huff, folding my arms over my chest.
She shakes her head, chuckling, “Aww, babe. I am sorry,” She coos, climbing into my lap, kissing me softly, “Can you forgive me?”
I try to say no, instead, I find myself nodding. She smiles into the kiss. I cup her face in my hand, kissing back. I can’t stay mad at her. I can’t even pretend to be mad at her.

I back away from the kiss, smiling at her, “Always.” I push the hair away from her face.
“We should probably clean up the mess, uh?” she questions.
I glance around, groaning at the thought of needing to clean it up, “Yes, we should. I will take you out for some cookies and coffee after since we didn’t get the ones we planned.” It is the least I can do since.
Elsie kisses me softly, “I would like that.”
She stood, offering me her hand, which I took and helped me to my feet. Hopefully, it won’t take long to clean with the two of us. I don’t think either of us could be assed, but we made the mess. It is only fair we clean it up.
We got to work, and it didn’t take too long, “Shower and head out?” I suggest. Elsie nods. I take her hand in mine, leading us to the bathroom.
“A quick one, no funny busy, Mr, because I am hungry,” Elsie warns, prodding my side.
I give her my sweetest smile, “Who me? I am an angel. I don’t do those things.”
Elsie rolls her eyes at me, shaking her head, “Sure you don’t, babe.”
I switch the shower on, and Elsie strips down first, distracting me from what I should be doing. I groan, licking my lips as I take every inch of her gorgeous body.
“Eyes up, Mr.” she giggles, stepping into the shower.
I chuckle, finally stripping down and joining her. I take my place in front of her. Our bodies close so we can both get the water. Elsie runs her finger over my chest, down to my stomach and over my scar. I close my eyes, sighing.
“Kellan, how did you get this?” she asks softly.
I tense when she asks like I always do. I open my eyes to look at her. She is staring up at me with those beautiful bright eyes, pleading for me to talk to her. I take a deep breath.
“It happened when I was six. My stepfather did it to me with a piece of glass because I talked back to him. He was laughing the entire time. All of the marks on my body were caused at the hands of one of my biological mother’s partners. She was too broken and weak to stand up for me.” I tried to hide the emotions in my voice, but you could hear them clearly.
She whimpers, caressing my scar. “Kellan, I am so sorry you had to go through such terrible things.”
“It is okay. I try not to let it affect me as much as it used to. The memories still haunt my dreams, but I try not to let them win. It was a long time ago. You can’t change the past, right?”
I realised she was crying. I reach in, wiping her tears away, “Please don’t cry, angel. I am okay.” I kiss her softly.
My past has already ruined so much of my life, and I refuse to let it continue to do so. We part from the kiss.
“Thank you for telling me, baby.” She says softly.
“I am sorry I don’t tend to talk about my past much, but you have been patient with me. I will eventually tell you everything, but one thing at a time.” I whisper, stroking her face.
Elsie presses a soft kiss to my lips, “Take your time. I promise not to push.”
“Thank you, angel. You are sweet and patient.” I smile.
I appreciate her not pressuring me. It makes me like and trusts her even more.
She smiles brightly at me, “You are worth it.”
Those are words I haven’t heard office. Elsie always has a way of making me feel like a decent man. A man who is worth something. I still believe she is far too good for me, but it makes me happy she is willing to give me a chance, no matter what happened in my past or how broken I am.
“Elsie, you are one of a kind, beautiful, do you know that? I have never met anyone like you which such a pure heart.”
“Aww, thanks, baby boy.” She gushes, pecking my lips.
We finally got ourselves showered, stealing kisses in between. I step out first, slipping a towel around my waist and holding one out for her to step into, wrapping it around her.
We head towards my bedroom, drying off and changing quickly. It is better we did because if not, I would become distracted again, toss her down on my bed and have my way with her. I need to keep my hormones in check until later.
Elsie pulls her hair into a braid, not wearing any make-up, which I love because she is so gorgeous without it. No matter how much I love her red lipstick and smoky eyes when she does wear it, I prefer her without any. She is such a natural beauty.
“Ready, kitten?” I ask, offering her my hand.
She smiles brightly, nodding and takes my hand in hers.
“Still in the mood for sweet treats?” she asks as we leave my place to head to the car.
I plant a kiss on the top of her head, “Yes. I promised you cookies and cookies you will get, baby girl.”
“Yay!” she beams, kissing my cheek.
I can’t help but smile and feel happy when I am around her.
