Elsie
“Yay!” I beam as we pull up to the store.
“It is only a store. Calm down, angel.” Kellan teases, “Yes, where we are going to buy things to make cookies. Chocolate chip, white chocolate and peanut butter cookies.” I grin widely.
I love making cookies. It makes me happy, “You want to make three different kinds? I won’t be able to make one, never mind multiple.” He chuckles as we climb out of his car.
Kellan reaches in, taking my hand in his as we head inside.
“We need a variety, babe. I told you I would teach you, but we should buy extra stuff in case you mess them up or burn them.” I snicker.
“Good idea. My kitchen will be a mess by the time we are done, especially if I am helping.” He pouts. The man is a clean freak.
“Yes, which we will clean up together after we finish,” I say, bumping my hip to his, smiling brightly up at him.
He lets go of my hand, wrapping his arm around my shoulder, pulling me into his side, kissing the top of my head, “Sorry. I will quit complaining now.” he smiles.
“Good!” I plant a soft kiss on his cheek, and we enter the store.
We need to get everything because Kellan doesn’t have a single thing to make cookies with. He went to grab a basket, but I shook my head, pointing to a trolley.
“Are you planning on buying the entire store, sweetness?” he asks, “No, but we need everything, remember, because you have nothing to make them with.”
“I have had no reason to buy these things since I have never really had someone in my life who I was willing to bake cookies with,” he smiles.
I grin at him, “And then you met me!”
“Yes, and now my life will never be the same. I will be one of those men who bake, now,” he teases, prodding my nose.
“Should I go find someone else to bake with me?” I raise my brow at him.
“No! Don’t you dare. Mine! You are mine, no one else’s.” He states firmly.
I snicker, “Then don’t tease, babe.”
“Okay, let’s do this.” He says confidently, “We need to pick something up for dinner too.” He adds.
I am looking forward to spending the entire day with him, doing nothing much, just relaxing and being together. I appreciate him talking about working less, but it honestly doesn’t make me mad he works so much. Yes, I wish I could have more time with him, but it is part of adulting, I guess.
We make our way along the aisles, getting what we need and finally arrive at the baking area, and I can’t help but get excited. I can be such a dork when it comes to baking.
I study everything closer, working out what is better and start to drop things into the trolley, Kellan looking at me, shaking his head and laughing.
“Do you really need so much stuff, sweetness?” he asks, “Yes! It isn’t like you don’t have the room to keep the stuff.” I giggle.
“True, continue until your heart is content,” He winks, “I need to grab a couple of things, so I will meet you back here.”
Kellan kisses me softly before heading off. I don’t think he needed anything. I believe he knew I was going to be a while, so rather than stand around waiting, he is pretending he had things to get.
I am fine with it. It allowed me to take my time and decide what I wanted. By the time I was done, he still wasn’t back, so I searched for him. I couldn’t find him. Where did he go?
I take my cell from my bag, calling him, and he answers after a couple of rings, “Babe, where are you? I can’t find you anywhere?” I ask.
“I am behind you, kitten.” he laughs, hanging up.
I turn and see him walking towards me, “Where did you disappear to?”
“I had to use the bathroom, sorry.” He pecks my lips, glancing over my shoulder at the trolley, “Now, are you sure you have gotten everything? I am sure there are still things on the shelf.”
I slap his arm playfully, “See for your cheek. You are paying for it all.” I say sweetly. I wouldn’t actually let him do that.
“Not much of a punishment, Elsie, because I planned on it paying anyway.” he shrugs.
“Eh, no, you aren’t,” I protest, “Sure, angel, you keep telling yourself that.” He takes the trolley from me, and we head to pay.
The cashier puts everything through, and I read the total. I dip my hand into my bag, rummaging around for my purse, finally finding it. I take my card out and am ready to hand it to her, but Kellan has already taken care of it.
“Seriously?” I complain, “You were too slow, angel.” He replies smugly.
I flip him off, making the cashier and him laugh. Kellan put everything into the trolley, “Aww, come on now, don’t be mad at me.” he says, smiling sweetly at me.
“Yeah, yeah, you aren’t forgiven yet,” I reply, “You will forgive me soon enough. You can’t stay mad at me.” He is right, but I can try.
I roll my eyes, walking ahead to the car, acting like I was mad. I wasn’t, not really, a little annoyed he paid for everything. He opened the boot for me to put the bags in I had, and he came up behind me.
“You are cute when you are acting mad,” he chuckles in my ear.
I ignore him, trying to hold back a smile and head round to the front seat. I open the door, and right on the passenger seat is a huge teddy bear with roses in his hand and a gift bag sitting next to it.
“Kellan, what is this?” I gush, and he appears at my side, “It is for you, sweetheart. I did it while you were getting the things for baking.” He smiles.
“Aww, thank you, baby boy, it is beautiful.” I coo, kissing him softly.
“I told you, you would forgive me soon,” he chuckles into my lips.
I snicker, parting my lips and hit his chest, “Don’t be so smug, Mr.”
“Sorry, I can’t help it. Open your gift and tell me if you like it. If not, we can exchange it.” he smiles.
I lifted the gift bag, removed the box from it and opened it. My eyes went wide when I saw what the box consisted of. It is a beautiful necklace, silver with a stunning purple diamond.
“Kellan, I love it. Thank you so much! What is this for?” I ask.
“I am glad. For being you and being patient with me.” he smiles.
“Aww, you are the best.” I gush, kissing him softly.
We stand there kissing for a moment.
“Come on, angel, let’s get back and make cookies,” Kellan suggests, parting his lips from mine.
I nod but ask him to put my necklace on first, so I can admire it on the drive. He happily did, “Beautiful.” He whispers, kissing my neck.
I moan softly, resting against him, “I really do love it, Kellan.”
It is probably the perfect gift someone has given me. I couldn’t get the smile off my face. Kellan steals one last kiss before I climb into the car.
I am ready for our day together, and hopefully, some of my skills will rub off on him.
