The rest of my workday was crap and stressful after Elsie left. I wanted nothing more than to get home to Elsie. She had texted me early to let me know she was at my place. It would be nice arriving home to someone being there, waiting for me.
I head inside, the place seeming eerily quiet. Did she leave? I am home later than I told her. I wouldn’t blame her if she did. It is closer to eleven. I felt terrible for being late.

“Elsie, are you still here?” I call out. I waited for an answer, but there wasn’t one. I sigh, disappointed she wasn’t here.
I stroll into the living room, ready to sit my things down on the sofa like I usually do, but I stop on my tracks because I notice Elsie curled up with a blanket over her. I smile, sitting on the edge, stroking the hair away from her face.
I watch a smile grow on her lips, but she doesn’t wake. I decide to leave her to sleep until I get my things away and shower. I will carry her to bed if she is still in a deep sleep. Though, I do have to admit I like the idea of Elsie sleeping on my sofa or in bed when I finish work. It would be something to look forward to every night.
I put my files away in my office and head to my bedroom, stripping down, laying my suit on the chair to send away to the dry cleaners: my next stop is the bathroom for my shower. I would make it a quick one so Elsie wasn’t sleeping alone for too long.
I climb in, the warm water relaxing the tension of my muscles. I turn around, letting the water run down my face. I close my eyes, enjoying the feeling. A pair of arms come around me from behind, soft lips on my shoulders.
“Hi,” Elsie whispers, kissing my neck.

I take her arms, bringing her around to the front of me, “Hey, beautiful.” I say, kissing her softly.
She happily kisses back, and once we part, “I am sorry I got home so late, angel. I didn’t mean to have you stay here alone so long. I tried to finish earlier, but I couldn’t make it happen.” I caress her cheek, sighing.
“It is okay. I know you work hard and have a lot of responsibilities. You don’t need to apologise for that.” She smiles.
Before I met Elsie, I was all about work because it was where I thrived. It was where I was in charge, and no real emotions were needed. Now, I think it is time my priorities change. Elsie should come before my work. She has been patient with me even if I still haven’t told her about my past. She always finds time for me, no matter what, and it shows me she cares no matter what. It is only fair I do the same for her because she deserves it.

“No, it isn’t okay, Elsie. Work shouldn’t be what takes my time away from you. I don’t need to work such long, stupid hours all the time because I have people who can do it for me. I should have been home when I said I would or before it.” I am seriously pissed at myself, more than I realised.
“Kellan, relax, babe.” She says, kissing me softly, “You are here now.” she mumbles into my lips.
“Yes. Though, I would like to make it up to you. Are you free tomorrow?” I ask, and she nods, “Good. I am going to take the day off and spend it with you if you are okay with that?” I smile, hoping she will say yes.
“I would like that,” she gushes, stealing another kiss, “Me too, angel.”
We finally get around to showering, “I made dinner. Yours is in the fridge.” She smiles as we step out.
I grab a towel, wrapping it around her, “You didn’t have to do that, sweetness, but thank you.” I kiss her forehead before getting a towel for myself.
I take her hand in mine, leading us to my bedroom.
“Did you bring something to sleep in?” I ask, “Damn it. I knew I forgot something,” she laughs.
“Yeah, sure, you never meant to do that,” I chuckle, shaking my head. I know she did it on purpose so she could steal something from me to sleep in.
Elsie smiles brightly at me. She is too damn cute. I grab myself a pair of joggers and a tee and boxers for Elsie, handing them to her, “I am going to have no clothes left soon,” I laugh.
I don’t mind her stealing my clothes, plus she looks damn sexy in them. I like she has my scent on her.
Once we changed, we headed through to the kitchen so I could have my dinner. It was late, and I don’t usually eat at this time of night, but tonight I will because Elsie went to the effort to make it for me.
“Can I make hot chocolate?” she questions, “Sure, you can do as you please when you are here.” I smile.
Elsie makes us some hot chocolate, and I take my dinner from the fridge to heat up. Elsie has made spaghetti Carbonaro. I was hoping for something a little lighter, but it did look amazing. I only took half. I can get the rest tomorrow.
“How have you been occupying yourself tonight?”
“Reading, cooking and sleeping,” she replies, “It was nice to relax.”
“Glad you got to relax, angel.” I lean over the counter, kissing her softly.
I take my food from the microwave, “Do you want some?”
“No, I am okay, thanks, babe.” She smiles, sipping her hot chocolate.
I dig into my food, and I felt at ease sitting here with her like this. I wish she could be around every night. I have never enjoyed someone’s company as much as I do hers.
“What do you want to do tomorrow? You can choose.” I wanted the day to be about her, “I don’t mind. I would happily just hang out here with you all day in our pjs, watch movies, oh and make some cookies.” She seems excited with the idea.
“You want me to make cookies? I can’t bake,” I laugh.
“I can teach you. I make amazing cookies; it will be fun.”
I wasn’t really into these things, but I am willing to try it for her, “Okay, then plans sorted for tomorrow.” I smile.
“Yay!” her entire face lights up. How can I say no to that face?
“You are too cute, kitten.” I bop her nose, making her giggle.
I am excited about our day together tomorrow, no matter what we do.
