The next day he invited me to check up on the OB. I immediately agreed because I also wanted to know things about pregnancy.
I wanted to laugh because Andrei's face was obviously nervous as we walked into the hospital so I held his cold hands.
"Why do you look so nervous?" I asked while massaging his hand.
He let out a deep sigh. "I am damn excited to see our baby, fvck!" he silently cursed.
"You're excited but you look constipated there." I said while hiding my smile.
"Because it gives me too much excitement baby" he explained like a child.
I just nodded and the smile could not hide on my lips.
"Hi, I'm Mis - Mrs. Villa Cruz. I have an appointment with Dra. De Silva." I informed the nurse on duty.
"Okay maam, please wait for a second" said the nurse.
She smiled at me after she looked at the monitor. "This way maam, Dra. De Silva is inside" she said as she helped us along the way.
She knocked on the door of the room before opening it and peeking inside. I even heard her mention my last name and then looked at us with a smile. "You can come in now. Ahmm will you take your mister inside maam?"
I nodded to her with a smile and then I simply looked at her name plate.
Azaia De Castro
She'll be my favorite nurse from now on.
We were both surprised because I could not help myself to pinch her cheek lightly.
"Oh my gosh! I'm sorry." I am ashamed to apologize.
I immediately felt Andrei hugging my waist.
"It's okay maam, it looks like you couldn't stop the excitement on my face." she said then laughed softly.
I covered my face with shame.
I heard my husband silently laughed at my back.
"Sorry Miss, it looks like our baby liked you." Andrei said then removed my hand from my face. He slowly lifted my face in his direction.
"It's okay" he said.
It’s like a magic words that make me feel good. I looked at the nurse in front of me again, there was still a smile on her face that I wanted to like.
I don't know why I feel like her smiles tell me that I did it right so I was very complacent.
"Let's go" Andrei said then guided me into my OB room.
The doctor asked me various questions about my period, pregnancy and so on. While she was talking to me, After that she laid me down on a bed where she looked at his patients.
She pulled out a machine where I was sure my baby would see using it. She did some other processes until she confronted my wife.
"Come here Daddy" the doctor called Andrei.
I could see the sweat on Andrei's forehead as he walked closer.
When he was next to me, the doctor gently presented us with a monitor along with the faint noise coming from there.
"Can you see it? Can you hear it?" smiling she asked us.
We were both speechless as we focused on the monitor in front of us.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I watched it.
My baby ..
"As you can see, you still can't totally see their figure because Mrs. is in the early stages of pregnancy" she explained while there were other things going on there. She also explained the size of the baby and so on that I no longer focused on.
"Their heartbeat is okay. I will prescribe you vitamins and other necessities" the doctor added.
"For now because you told me that you almost lost it right recently, I recommend that you rest at least two weeks before you return to work. I don't think I need to remind you that heavy work, lack of sleep and stress in pregnant women are forbidden. so as best as you can avoid it. "
I just nodded while my eyesight was still on the monitor.
"Normally first to third months of pregnancy you will really feel morning sickness. So you do not have to be afraid but still be attentive to your body." she said then it hit the machine. Slowly a paper came out of it.
"So congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Villa Cruz" she said with a smile then handed us the paper that came out of the machine he was using.
The tears I was holding back kept falling when the photo of my son was exposed.
"I'm confused" Andrei said seriously which grabbed my attention.
He was seriously looking at my ultrasound photo before turning it over to the doctor.
"Why?" I asked.
Dra. De Silva also looked at him curiously as if he was waiting for Andrei to add something to say.
"You keep saying earlier their word. Am I thinking right doctor?" Andrei said that I could not understand.
"What are you saying?" I asked confused as I adjusted my clothes.
Dra. De Silva laughed a little. "Yes Mr. Villa Cruz. Seems like your wife is very occupied and she didn't sink in everything I said before."
Now the doctor is the one I looked at wondering.
"Fvck! God thankyou!" he shouted then hugged me.
I winced because it would be wrong to listen to what he said if I did not understand it properly.
"Wait what's going on?" I asked as he untied his hug with me.
The doctor laughed again as he watched the two of us.
"Okay let me rephrase so your wife can understand."
"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Villa Cruz for having a twins."
Twins ..
Twins ..
Twins ..
"Oh my gosh! My baby is twins ?!" I said in shock while crying.
"Yes baby, yes" Andrei said then hugged me again.
What a great blessing my lord. Thankyou.
"Thankyou baby. Thankyou, I am so fvcking happy and thankful at this moment" he said softly which made me cry.
I am too.
"I will do everything to be a good father to them." he whispered again then let go of the hug and looked at me.
I sincerely smiled at him.
He cupped my face and wiped my tears. "And I will also do everything to be a best husband to you" he said in teary eyes and slowly kissed my forehead.
You already are.
After the check up we went to the mall to buy our stocks at home. The smile on my lips has not disappeared since we left the hospital, I feel like this is probably my happiest day.
I grabbed my belly while Andrei was in front of me pushing a push cart.
Daddy even if you do not see my babies I know you are happy there in heaven with this blessing.
Thankyou for giving him to me Dad. Please guide our marriage.
"Are you okay?" Andrei said pale as he looked at me and touched my thigh as well.
I couldn't help but laugh softly at his reaction. I touched his face and kissed his cheek.
"I'm okay don't worry. I just remember Daddy" I explained.
The sadness immediately passed through his green eyes. "I'm sorry, I was not there when you need me the most." he said.
I hugged him and kissed him again, this time on the lips.
"It's all in the past now. You didn't mean that so let's forget." I sincerely said.
He caressed my hair. "Thankyou for staying baby, thankyou for believing, thankyou for trusting" he mumbled.
"I'm your wife. I will stay no matter what. I will rest maybe but will come back and come back to you." I whispered softly.
That's how fragile I am.
