James froze.
For a moment, he couldn't process what his assistant was saying.
It took a few seconds for it to sink in.

"The peace treaty? What the hell are you talking about? That thing has been locked in the Commission's archives for three years. How could she suddenly find out about it?"
The assistant was sweating, his words tumbling out in a panic.
He glanced at Chloe in the hospital bed before leaning in to whisper in James's ear.
"I don't know how, but she's the one who mailed us the copy. I tried calling to explain, but she didn't pick up. I think she knows about what happened back then. I didn't have time to investigate, I just came straight here to tell you."
"What do we do now? What if she goes to the Commission and tries to overturn the treaty? If she exposes this, the reputation we've spent years building for the Wilson family will be destroyed!"
In the bed, a flicker of triumph crossed Chloe's eyes before she put on a worried expression.

"James, what is it? Is something wrong with the family? You should go handle it. I'm fine. Liam will be here soon. You go do what you need to do."
James's face was grim.
After a long pause, he finally explained.
"I'm sorry, Olivia's suddenly gone missing. I have to go home and make sure she's not in trouble."

Chloe let out a small, dismissive laugh.
"Is that all? I thought it was something serious. That's just how Olivia is, you know that. She's probably still pissed off about the dinner party. Don't worry about it."
"Give her a couple of days. She'll come around on her own. You should focus on the family business. Don't let her distract you. She'll understand."
Her words seemed to calm James slightly.
But just as he turned to leave, Chloe started coughing violently behind him.
James had no choice. He sent his assistant to investigate my whereabouts while he stayed at the hospital to look after Chloe.
The moment the assistant was gone, Chloe was perfectly fine again.
