We were engrossed in our banter when a sudden knock echoed from the front door. Startled, we exchanged glances.
"Who could that be at this hour?" Luke muttered.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as an eerie silence settled over the room. The knock came again, louder this time, and the sound seemed to reverberate through the air.
Without exchanging a word, we cautiously made our way towards the door, and our footsteps were barely audible against the creaking floorboards. As the door swung open, we didn’t see anyone outside. Then a gust of wind swept through.
"Is anyone there?" Luke called out.
When nobody answered, I was about to panic when the hotel staff slowly walked toward us. A deep sigh of relief escaped from my lips when I saw the hotel staff. They were dressed nicely, who brought our meal for the day. They had friendly smiles as they came to our table and placed the plates in front of us. The food smelled amazing, making us even more hungry.
The staff took a moment to tell us about the meal, explaining where the ingredients came from and how the chef had prepared everything. They seemed to really know and care about the food they served.
As I caught sight of the generous portions of meat, my mouth watered in anticipation. The sight of the succulent lobster meat filled me with a delightful sense of euphoria.

Without hesitation, I eagerly began enjoying my meal, using the utensils provided. I savored each bite with enthusiasm, relishing the flavors. My appetite was unstoppable, and I ate with the gusto of a hungry worker, fully immersed in the pleasure of the moment.
Of course, I made sure to eat at a comfortable pace, ensuring that I could fully enjoy my meal without any risk of choking. Safety is always a priority, even when indulging in delicious food.
To complement the flavors, I took a refreshing sip from the bottle of pineapple juice. Its sweetness perfectly complemented the savory meal. As I finished my food within a few minutes, I glanced over at Luke, who was still savoring his meal at a more leisurely pace.
"Do you want me to help you?" I asked him hesitantly, feeling a bit shy.

He set down his fork and let out a sigh. "You can have my food. I understand that kind of hunger! I'll just order another meal."
He handed me his plate, and I eagerly started digging in. Finally, I felt satisfied. After finishing our meal, I was surprised when he told me that some of his friends were coming. Initially, I thought they would come the next day, but then he stood up and opened the door to let them in.
At first glance, they appeared to be ordinary individuals, but something about them made me doubt their true nature. There was an undeniable aura of strength surrounding them, and their presence felt intimidating. Though they were human, there was a sense of ruthlessness hidden beneath their exterior.
"We thought you were dead," a tall, blond-haired man said. He had a commanding presence and striking dark blue eyes that added to his intimidating demeanor.
Luke poured himself a glass of wine as we all settled on the couch. The atmosphere grew heavy with their arrival. There were six people in total, three girls and three guys.
"I managed to survive and escape those ruthless individuals," Luke stated, his voice filled with determination.
One of the girls caught my attention with her sharp eyes and white Asian features. She possessed a striking beauty, but there was a hint of sadistic nature in her gaze.
"We were able to eliminate some of them and make them pay for their actions. We tried to gather information from them, but as expected, they remained loyal to their cause," she explained.
Luke began to share information, warning me that these individuals were victims of werewolf and rogue attacks. They had suffered the loss of loved ones due to the cruelty inflicted upon them.
"It seems someone has successfully disrupted the balance of this world," Luke remarked.
"Do not worry, I have gathered valuable information. I now know who our main target should be," he continued.
Suddenly, a guy with black raven hair seated himself next to me and unexpectedly hugged me. I flinched, feeling uncomfortable with his sudden display of familiarity. We were not close, and I didn't even know him well.
"Boss, who is this adorable cute chick? Can I keep her?"
The man's comment caught me completely off guard, leaving me feeling shocked and uneasy. I observed Luke's expression darken, his face filled with an intense anger that seemed ready to tear the man apart.
"Release him, Kyle, or I will sever your hands and offer them as a meal to the dogs," Luke's voice resonated with a chilling threat.
Kyle reluctantly let go of me, sulking like a petulant child. Then, I was gloating with pride because of the way Luke claimed me as his own. He didn’t mind telling them that I belonged to him.
"Fine,” Kyle mumbled and Luke let out a sigh before continuing.
"As I mentioned earlier, I managed to gather valuable information. I escaped through a hidden tunnel that led me to the other side of the mountain. There, I learned about a pack of werewolves."
The girl with blonde hair cursed under her breath. "Damn! Did you come across them? We should go there and eliminate them. My hands are itching to slit some throats!”
"Please, calm down first! Not all werewolves are evil. I've learned that there are different types of werewolves. The ones who killed our family, friends, and loved ones are the mindless ones known as rogues," Luke explained, trying to diffuse the tension.
"Are you being brainwashed or something? There's no such thing as different kinds of monsters! How can we trust that what you're saying is true?"
“Because I am one of them!” Luke exclaimed and they all looked surprised.
As I listened to their conversation, I realized something. Luke had a group of people hunting werewolves, even if he was one of us. Feeling the need to intervene, I stood up from my chair. It was uncertain if they would believe me or trust my words, but I had to try.
"I can vouch for what Luke is saying," I asserted, hoping to bring some clarity to the situation. “Not all werewolves are bad.”
The blonde girl stared at me with a sharp gaze. "And who exactly are you?"
"I am Isabella Draka, daughter of William Drake, the Alpha of Pembroke," I replied calmly.
In an instant, they all reached for their guns and pointed them at me. However, I swiftly used my telekinesis to control their weapons, redirecting them away from me. Well, I didn’t want them to hurt me, or Luke for that matter. So, without thinking about the consequences, I displayed my power, and when I glanced at Luke, he was both amazed and surprised.
"Could you perhaps listen to what I have to say before deciding to murder me?" I asked, my tone laced with sarcasm.
"We can't trust a single word from someone like you!" Kyle exclaimed, brandishing a sharp knife made of pure silver.
"ENOUGH!" Luke's voice boomed, as he pulled me into a protective embrace. "Can you all start listening to me? You're acting without proper judgment!"
I had no idea how Luke managed to convince them, but he began to share the story.
"So, you're telling us that she is powerful, right? And there's a war between the two types of werewolves. The rogues, the missing people... It's all a mess right now. We don't even know who our true enemy is," Cloud voiced his frustration and then Luke showed them a picture.
"This is our enemy. He's the one behind the creation of an army of rogues. He's a god in disguise, trying to plunge everything into chaos. His name is Magnus Blackthorn.”
Magnus Blackthorn? It was my first time hearing that particular name, and then I narrowed my eyes at Luke because obviously, there was something he was hiding from me.
“Luke?” I called his attention.
“I am sorry if I kept you in the dark about Magnus Blackthorn, Isabella. Your Dad and I have been working together to stop him from doing evil things but he was unstoppable.”
“Dad is aware?”
“He is. That’s why he hired me to be your bodyguard. Well, to make the story short, he knew I could protect you.”
“But how did you know him, Luke?”
“One time, I saved him when he was attacked by Magnus Blackthorn’s people.”
“But who is Magnus? Why would he want some chaos into our worlds?”
“Because he wanted some attention, and he wanted to show to everyone that he is more powerful than her sister, the Moon Goddess.”
“Is that a legend or something? I never heard anything about that from my parents!”
“Because it’s a story not worth knowing by the kids, Isabella. Sooner or later, Magnus will be defeated, and we don’t have to worry about him.”
"So, what's the plan?" the Asian girl asked, her voice filled with determination.
"The plan is to sabotage his grand scheme. Yes, we want to eliminate him immediately, but we must remember that acting irrationally plays into his hands. He is a god, a powerful entity. If he completes his power, we could all be wiped out. He possesses the power of both werewolves and influence within our government," Luke explained.
"How do we go about sabotaging him?" she inquired, eager for a plan of action.
“The initial plan is to locate all of their warehouses and kidnapping sites, aiming to prevent the creation of a larger troop of enemies, specifically rogues.”
As they strategized, I took a moment to rest. My body still ached, yet Luke ravished me without considering my need to heal. Sometimes, I felt the urge to choke him.
My mate could be so exasperating at times. Then, thoughts of him and his face made me sigh like a love-struck fool. I watched myself drift off to sleep.
In my slumber, I had a dream. It's somewhat hazy, but I recalled fragments of memories from my past life, memories that revealed how to harness and utilize all of my powers.
"Wake up..."
I'm gently awakened by a soft voice. It's Luke. It seemed I had dozed off.
"Hey," I say, rubbing my head. “Sorry if I fell asleep. I was really exhausted. Where are they?” I asked while referring to his guests earlier.
“They’re resting,” he replied. “By the way, I want you to be vigilant when Kyle is around.”
I asked him why, desperately seeking an explanation. However, he remained silent, leaving me standing there alone, lost in my thoughts as I stared at the floor.
His behavior was possessive, filled with jealousy, as if he wanted to claim me as his own. Luke acted as though he couldn't bear the thought of sharing me with others, as if I were someone he couldn't let go of.
Lost in my thoughts, I began packing my belongings, deciding that I would leave the next day. I had initially planned to stay for a week, but I had lost my reason to prolong my stay.
Without uttering a single word, I left the hotel room and stepped outside. Despite the presence of numerous bodyguards, I managed to evade the security team. Luke would need to double his security measures, that much was certain.
I walked along the bustling streets of the city, surrounded by people living their ordinary lives. Meanwhile, I carried the weight of my lineage, facing the challenges that lay ahead.
I also pondered whether they deserved to be saved. Were they not individuals who should face consequences for their actions, engaging in scenes of violence and attempting to bring down the entity that brought them into existence?
However, I reminded myself that there were also kind-hearted werewolves who did not deserve judgment from the rest. I also recognized that there were humans who had been affected by the long-standing war between the two factions of deities.
I yearned to create a better world, yet I couldn't help but feel envious of those leading ordinary lives, consumed by everyday concerns such as bills and food.
I understood that we all carried different burdens and persevered in our own ways. Nevertheless, I hoped and wished to be someone who wasn't too different from the rest.
All I could do was make amends for my past losses, take action, and work towards securing a future that had been continuously threatened by Magnus Blackthorn.
Finally, I arrived at the old and grand library. The familiar creaking sound of the gate filled me with nostalgia. Stepping inside, I was greeted by the scent of aged books. I spotted Selene, engrossed in her reading as usual. I made my way towards her, and she was taken aback by my presence.
"Isabella!” she exclaimed upon seeing me again after the incident at the bar. “You didn’t even bother to contact me after the incident, so I thought something bad had happened to you!”
I chuckled and embraced her. "Calm down. We survived, barely, but we made it. Now, we're making progress in the battle against Magnus Blackthorn."
"How?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
Then, I realized that Selene was also aware of the existence of Magnus Blackthorn. When she warned me that there was a group who wanted me dead or alive, it must be Magnus.
“You knew,” I said while referring to Magnus, and she nodded.
“I didn’t want to scare you, Isabella. I know that once you know his name, you will not stop until you will learn everything about him, but how did you know?”
“Luke told me,” I said and she furrowed her brows. “It seems that you and Luke have the same agenda. You are just working with different groups but the agenda and the target is the same, Selene.”
“I’m sorry if I didn’t share everything with you,” she apologized and I arched my brows.
“Well, you should be. I don’t like it when I am the last to know,” I told her and my tone probably scared her.
