Luca's POV
"F**K!" I screamed in rage as I destroyed the cabin living room, reeling from the news my first army was utterly destroyed. And even worse, Fire Moon had a Gypsy who was helping the Faes strengthen their magic barriers. Now, none of us can get through!!
"LUCA! CALM DOWN AND SAVE YOUR STRENGTH FOR THE NEXT BATTLE!!" My mother tried to placate me.

"Listen to your Mama. That was just the first round of witches." Marshall smirked at me. I grabbed him and threw him into the wall.
"Do you think I want to send ALL my witches to die in one place, you dim mother f****r!! I HAVE MANY WOLF PACKS I NEED TO DESTROY AS WELL AS F*****G ARLEN MILLER!!" I hurled Marshall across the room.
"Luca, we got that one Fae, the King's right-hand man! The one that can control emotions!" Lorenzo told me, but I didn't care.
"Who, Jason?! He's nothing! I WANT ARLEN MILLER TO DIE!!" I shouted.
"There's more, Luca. Fire Moon has not located the Gamma female, Tessa Starr, or her children." Lorenzo said.
"SO!! We don't need those kids anymore now that my Aunt Desdemona is dead! I want to burn Arlen to f*****g ash, I want his mate's body under mine, and I want it done TONIGHT!" I roared, feeling Zade begin to surface.

Marshall attempted to stand up to freeze me, but my mother stopped him. "Where are the Faes you promised us!" She screamed at him.
"One of them got her a** killed in battle by my granddaughter! Thirty more should be arriving any moment!" Marshall gasped out. I grabbed him by his chin.
"You have an hour to get them here, or you will join that Fae IN HELL!" I hissed in his face and stormed off.
To clear my head, I turned into my wolf Zade and went on a run. This was beautiful country with the green lushness the Pacific Northwest was renowned for. But I'm too enraged to enjoy it.

I sent several of my strongest witches into battle, and they met their ends in minutes. Doubts have begun to take over about whether I can really win this thing. As much as I hated to admit it, Arlen may just have the upper hand.
Strategy went through my mind as I ran towards the waterfall and jumped into the pond beneath it. Without a doubt, the Holt siblings must die. If I can get them out of the way and take that old coot, Ezra Hunter, with him, Arlen's magic will not be enough to battle the rest of the witches.
Or we just cheat. Go right to the source.
What do you mean, Zade?
What do we know about Faes? Where do they draw the largest part of their strength?
From their mate bonds....
"I'll just kidnap Brynn. Once I get her out of Dreake and under lock and key, I'll go back, rally the remaining witches and finally take care of that f****r once and for all!!" I said out loud.
It was too crazy of a plan not to work. And it was definitely the last thing Arlen would ever suspect me to do!
After another hour or so of swimming in the pond, I went back to the cabin to go over the new game plan with the other three. "Lorenzo, I'm going to need you for this mission as a diversion."
"They will kill me on sight, Luca!"
"Not if you plead for mercy. And you WILL plead for mercy! Knowing the good King as I do, he will lock you in one of his holding cells. As soon as I get Brynn and get her out, I'll come back for you. In the meantime, how are the remaining witches looking, Mother?'"
"We're down to just over two hundred. It's not a lot, but many of them are very powerful." Sophia informed me.
"We will not attack until I get Brynn back here and under heavy guard. Arlen will go to pieces once I get her and THAT is when we will make our move!" The plan all hinged on the kind of performance Lorenzo could pull. But reckless was all I had at the moment.
"Ahhh....my Faes are here." Marshall read off a text he received.
"Lucky for you, and ten minutes to spare too!" I growled at him. We all went outside to greet this harem of Marshall's.
"All of you have something against King Arlen?" My mother and I eyed every one of them, searching for signs of deception.
"He's a monster!"
"Look what he did to my face!! I WANT HIM DEAD!" A blonde came forward with the evidence of Arlen's nasty punishment all over her face.
"What abilities do you all have?" Sophia asked them.
"I can cause rain!"
"I have smoke magic!"
"I can make the earth move!" I zoned in on the blonde with the messed-up face.
"What is your name, young lady?"
"Simone Dupree." She answered.
"We will use you first in battle. I'm sure you have heard of Eve Holt. Can you match her gift?"
"I've got one better. I can stop her." Simone smiled at me. It was a shame about her face, because Simone really was stunning.
"Tell me Simone, why did Arlen burn you?" My mother asked her.
"My fated mate, Charles Hicks, was a horrible man. I fell in love with another man and made plans to reject Charles. But Charles found out before I could reject him and killed my lover! So, I killed Charles out of revenge. The good king's reasoning for punishing me was because I didn't formally reject my mate. Even though Arlen knew good and well Charles was an abusive piece of s**t, he took his precious Fae law's side and punished ME! I've waited close to ten years for my vengeance! AND I AIM TO HAVE IT!" Simone screamed.
"Welcome aboard." I smiled at Simone.
"Everyone, I will not lie to you. We had one battle already and lost almost half our witches. We are up against not only Faes, but Gypsies and wolves! If any of you have magic such as firepower, electric shock, anything that can disarm someone quickly step forward now!"
The Faes all turned around. "Where is Ellie?"
"Where is she?!" Marshall screamed frantically. This is the most worked up I've ever seen this man, and it was unnerving.
"Who in the hell is Ellie!" I demanded.
"A little Fae b***h I smuggled out of Ireland last year! Freaking Aiden Starr almost got her when he and his brother put me up to a sting last week, but I cornered the little s**t at the airport just before she got on a plane back home! ARIANA!!!"
An older Fae woman came forth, with graying brown hair and dead blue eyes. Marshall marched right up to her and smacked her in the face. "Ariana, you are those girls' keeper! Now, where in the hell is Ellie?!"
"I don't know, sir! She was with us when she got here!" Ariana cried.
"She can't have got far! Let's search for her!" My mother commanded.
"It won't matter. Ellie Gallagher is going to be very difficult to locate." Marshall said with resignation.
"WHY!" I snarled.
"She's got the gift of some kind of camouflage. She can blend in with her surroundings. Hell she could even be hiding in one of these tree trunks!"
I used my firepower and burned all the trunks to ash. I was about to turn my powers on the forest when my mother stopped me.
"I can't sense the girl, Luca. She isn't here. And I sense Ariana was lying through her f*****g teeth!!" I stormed over to Ariana and snatched her up by her neck, holding her midair.
"What do you know!" I snarled.
Ariana began to laugh. "You will never find her, witch-wolf!" She cackled, and I got...p****d. Next thing I knew, Ariana's remains were at my feet.
Marshall stormed over to his entourage, rage in his blue eyes. "Now you saw what just happened to Ariana! Anyone else hiding anything?" I looked at my mother and she shook her head.
"Don't worry about that little twit, Luca. Her power is just to keep her hidden. She can't do much more with it." Marshall may have a point, but I have to put finding Ellie Gallagher on the back burner.
"You ready for your close-up, Lorenzo?" I asked him.
"I don't think the King is going to buy it, but fine." I took Lorenzo and cloaked him with my invisibility shield, and we made our way to Dreake. Once I was done creating my sanctuary and whispered my spells to make me strong, I made Lorenzo visible again and prepped him.
"Remember. Look remorseful and sob like your life depends on it." I instructed him.
"I got it." I trailed alongside Lorenzo using my invisibility as he made his way to the gate. We were stopped immediately by the guard.
"YOU STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE! SOMEONE GET THE KING!" Another guard ran off and within seconds, he returned with King Arlen. It took everything I had in me not to manifest and murder him right there.
"King Arlen, you have to help me! Luca has gone absolutely crazy!" I struggled not to laugh. Lorenzo even managed to cough up a few tears.
And suddenly, there she was. My Brynn, the woman who has haunted my dreams for months. She turned her blue-green eyes right at her great-uncle.
"And you expect...what? For us to show you leniency?" Brynn laughed at him. Goddess, she was a true Queen!
"You have to help me! He killed your grandmother!" Lorenzo pleaded with her.
"We know that! I couldn't care less about it either! What I want to know is WHY, Lorenzo? Why didn't you tell me who you really were!!!"
"I didn't know until about a month ago, when I overheard Arlen talking about the DNA test! I didn't know Brynn, you have to believe me!" Arlen bolted over and hit Lorenzo upside the head.
"QUEEN Brynn to you, you son of a b***h!" Lorenzo huffed up, ready to try and battle him. It would be no use. The last I remembered, Lorenzo's demon powers were bound permanently.
"Your parents killed mine, needlessly! Did you know that sister of mine was the one who really killed that Fae mate of our mother's?!"
"I was only a child when your parents were executed. I didn't learn of this matter until just last week. My parents made a mistake, and for that I am truly sorry, Lorenzo. But what's done is done! If I could go back and give your parents back to you, I would. But I can't, and teaming up with this madman isn't going to make them come back!!" Lorenzo screamed in rage and ran towards Arlen, only for Brynn to freeze him. In fact, time completely stopped. I watched Brynn walk up to a still Lorenzo.
"You let your hate consume you, Grand-Uncle. Now it is too late." She sadly said. It was only then I realized that I could still move under the invisibility cloak.
NOW WAS MY CHANCE!
I made my way until I was inches from Brynn's back. Close enough that I could smell her hair shampoo, which smelled absolutely divine! I reached my hands out, and she whipped around, facing me. I was close enough to kiss those beautiful red lips of hers!
And that's exactly what I did, right before I grabbed this beautiful creature. Just before we disappeared, Brynn unfroze everything. I closed my hands over Brynn's mouth and watched in glee as Arlen fell to his knees and screamed.
"OUCH!" The little s**t bit my hand! Brynn stared at me, those gorgeous eyes of hers burning with rage.
"Oh, did that hurt?? You just wait until my King gets his hands on your crazy a**!"
