Aiden Starr's POV
TW: Disturbing elements, mentions of dark themes
"Mr. Bates, I presume?" A man with almost white hair and bright blue eyes came up to the bar and sat beside me as I sipped my rum.

"That's me, mate." I cordially shook his hand, keeping the disgust I felt internal. From what I know about this b*****d, it's taking everything in me not to turn him into dust in front of all these good bar patrons!
"I'm Marshall. An Irishman, I haven't had one of you in some years! You are enjoying New Orleans, I take it?" He smiled at me, his Southern accent thick and strong.
"I sure am! Wish I would've come during Mardi Gras!" I have played these parts with so many criminals that it has become a second nature.
"I would have had a much better selection for you if you had! So what is your pleasure?" Marshall kept his voice low.
"A Fae preferably, though I am not opposed to whatever you have." I whispered back and watched him nod.
"I have many Faes. All clean." Marshall smirked at me.

"Non d**g users?" Marshall actually scoffed.
"I see you are a picky man. Well I do have a few who like to party, but since you don't I have just the girl for you. She's fresh, hasn't been too bogged down by this life yet." Marshall smiled with such evil I almost spewed my rum right on his shoes.
"Sounds great. I am interested."
"Understood. Meet me at Rue en Vien. Room 204, nine. If you are five minutes late we will leave. The deposit for your night is $500." I took out my cash and handed it to him.

"I like you, Mr. Bates! You didn't dicker around at all! See you soon!" I waited about twenty minutes after Marshall left and went back to the hotel across the street, where Anthony and Conner were waiting on me.
"Christ I need a bloody shower!" I exclaimed to both of them.
"We'll keep watch. Go." Anthony told me. I went into the bathroom and retched into the toilet, my stomach turning at my encounter with Marshall Sherman. I felt pure evil tonight, something I haven't felt in quite a long time. No matter what, him and Luca can not find each other.
I hopped into the shower, desperately missing Ainslee. We'd been hiding in one of Anthony's properties in the Caribbean for the last few months with my father-in-law and his family. I've been going back and forth between there and Washington to help King Arlen, and it was starting to wear us both down. We were going to come back home last month to be closer to each other. But with the increase in witch threats in the wolf packs, Ainslee and Anita stayed with Julian Jr. while Julian DeBuys went back to his pack to help the warriors train for the inevitable battle.
I smiled, thinking of the other reason Ainslee stayed behind. I can't wait to finally become a father. Three years ago, I never thought I would have had this life. I was a bitter, cynical man with a death wish. Jade's gold magic changed me, and Ainslee changed me even more.
But I'm also filled with anxiety, because Ainslee will soon be giving birth to the third pure Faewolf in existence. Even though I'm a Dark Fae who was blessed with Gold Magic, that darkness could be passed onto our offspring. And it will make the child more of a catch to men like Marshall Sherman.
I turned off the shower and dried off, getting ready for tonight and trying to keep my mind on the task at hand. Marshall cannot sense I am a taken man at any point. I will have to play the part to absolute perfection.
I called Ainslee, crushed at how I was going to have to tell her to anticipate some possible infidelity pain. "Hello darling. How are you and my offspring?"
"We're fine, Aiden! They're moving around like a gymnast in there!" I smiled, remembering how active the baby was when I left. I took a deep breath and braced myself.
"Ainslee, to get the man we have been watching, I'm going to have to meet a woman the man is forcing into pros**tu*ion. To protect her and my team, I may have to kiss her..."
"Say no more, Aiden. I've been fine when you've had to do it before, and I'll be fine now." Ainslee assured me.
"I'm sorry, my darling, that my job has to be like this." I told her. Right after Brent Serrano was eliminated and I went back to my regular work, I had a job where I pretended to be a hit man and kissed another woman who was plotting to have her fated mate eliminated. I hadn't even thought to warn Ainslee when I did it, and regretted it when I settled the case. When I got back home, Ainslee and her father ripped into me about it. Ever since then, I tried my best to give Ainslee warning.
"You're saving lives. That's how I look at it and that's what helps me stay strong and get through it. I trust you Aiden, and I'm proud of you. I'll be OK." My eyes teared up. I truly don't deserve this woman.
"I love you so much, Ainslee. I'll call you later tonight."
"We love you to, Aiden. Talk soon." Ainslee hung up, and I stepped back out into the hotel room. Anthony stared at me.
"Will you be ok, deartháir dao?" Anthony asked.
"I'll be fine. Ainslee will be too." I assured him. Ainslee and I decided not to tell anyone about the pregnancy just yet, though it was getting harder to hide as she's almost three months gone. Especially when one has a midwife for a stepmother.
"That's good to hear. What's the plan mates?" Conner asked us.
"We know with the woman being a possible supernatural that Marshall will stick around until Aiden is done with her. She's too valuable. Conner, did you remember to reserve the rooms by room 204?"
"Did one better, mates! I rented the entire second floor and figured out that room 203 has a standing reservation." Conner told us.
"Good man, though you better go into hiding once King Arlen gets the bill." We all laughed, imagining Arlen's face going blood-red when he opened his credit card statement.
"From running surveillance, I learned that room 203 is where Marshall hides while the women turn tricks. Once it's all done, the women go into that room and the son of a b***h only gives them a small portion. And the things they have to hook up with...he's running his own private supernatural brothel here!" Anthony snarled in disgust.
"I had to bribe the housekeeper with some cash, but she let me in 204. I put up hidden cameras." Conner informed us.
"It's important we capture everything, and divulge nothing of our own plans and anything that links us to people like Patrick Jenkins. Marshall has connections throughout the supernatural world and the last thing King Arlen needs are more enemies." Anthony cautioned me.
"Did you ever find out what he is hiding from?" I asked him.
"The FBI has nothing on him. There is nothing in any archives in the supernatural world other than he's the man to call if you're looking for a good time." Anthony shuddered.
"How has he gotten away with this kind of debauchery for so long!? I looked up the laws in Louisiana and when it's all said and done, solicitation is illegal." Conner said.
"For one, the supernatural world doesn't care. There are too many supernaturals hooking up with Marshall's girls and it's impossible to track them all. Not one supernatural girl associated with Marshall has ever complained or raised any fuss, other than the human girl a couple of years ago the police blew off. The other thing is that the customers directly pay him, like I did earlier. Marshall has figured out in Louisiana, as long as the girls don't physically touch the money they are safe from the legal repercussions." I replied.
"Either way you slice it, he's a monster and he has to be stopped. Our Queen's life may depend on it." Anthony stared out the window, watching closely for Marshall. The French Quarter was bustling even for a Wednesday night.
"It's 8:40, Aiden." I got up and made my way to the Rue en Vien hotel a block away. I waited patiently in the lobby and about twenty minutes later, Marshall and a young red-haired woman arrived. I waited another couple of minutes and made my way through the lobby and up the stairs to room 204. I knocked on the door and the young girl answered.
"Mr. Bates?" She whispered out, visibly shaking.
"That's me. What is your name, love?"
"Ellie." Thank God, she had an Irish accent!!
"May I come in?" Ellie stepped aside without a word and I walked into the room. It was very nice and well-kept. The bed had already been turned down.
"Where are you from, Ellie?"
"Belfast. You?" Ellie watched me carefully.
"Cork, not far from the sea." I smiled at her. "Cen aois thú a stór?" (How old are you, dear?)
"Eighteen. Cé tusa i ndáiríre?" (Who are you really?)
"Cara atá ag iarraidh cabhrú leat." (A friend who wants to help you).
"Ní féidir leat. Ní féidir le duine ar bith. Tá sé ró-chumhachtach. Tá mo chumhachtaí an-lag!" (You can't. No one can. He's too powerful. My powers are too weak!) Ellie looked at me with trepidation and fear.
"Cad is féidir leis a dhéanamh?" (What can he do?)
"Stop am, ach ní ar feadh i bhfad." (He can stop time, but not for long).
"Love, I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to have someone who can speak Gaelic. Take off your clothes!" I winked at her and shook my head. Thankfully, Ellie quickly understood. I bent my head down and whispered to her.
"We have to really sell this, Ellie. He can't suspect a thing. So moan, do whatever, and I'll jump on the bed making him think we're getting to know each other. Understood?" She nodded and got on the bed.
Ellie and I played that game for close to half an hour in case Marshall was listening. When we got finished, she left the room and a couple of minutes later, came back with him. Suddenly, Marshall shoved Ellie to me on the bed and pulled a g*n on me, pointing it right in my face!
"What the f**k you think you are doing!!" Marshall growled at me.
"What is going on!!" I reverted to a scared man, getting on my knees. Anthony will really rip on me about this later!
"Cut it out, you lying sack of s**t! I've been doing this long enough to know that y'all weren't f*****g! You paid a lot of money to f**k this girl! Now just what in the hell are you and what kind of language were you two whispering to each other!!!" Marshall yelled, point the gun erratically.
"Drop it, you piece of shite!" Marshall had no choice with the revolver my dear brother had pointed at the back of his head. Conner came in and grabbed Ellie, getting her out of the room.
I braced myself to eradicate Marshall, but he f*****g disappeared before I could even get my hands up! Anthony and I ran out of the room and followed the energy rush we felt, but Marshall Sherman was long gone!
"You sense that, brother?" Anthony asked me.
"Our worst fears have just been realized." I dreaded having to tell Arlen Luca Lombardo has Marshall Sherman.
"There is more, Aiden. You sense the other thing?" I paused a minute and gasped, unable to comprehend what I was sensing.
"Cailleach diabhal!!' (Witch-Demon!)
